Unfortunately there is raw asphalt at the Nebo trailhead gate on the Nephi side for about 4 miles heading North up the trail. The gate is open right now, but I believe it is scheduled to be closed the 15th of December. We wont be able to groom until we get a few good storms to cover that asphalt, or we will damage the snow cat.

We were able to trailer our sleds up a ways today and rode them to the top and as far North as Blackhawk campground turn off.

I would say there is anywhere from 12" to 18" of snow once you get North of Devils Kitchen and until you get to Blackhawk. You definitely don't want to get off the main road. We need a lot of snow before snowmobiling is going to be safe, but we are off to a good start.

I hope everyone is doing well! It is almost time for the most glorious time of year, yes snowmobiling!!

I drove up to the trail head gate of the Nebo Loop on the Nephi side and there was only about 1" of very spotty wet snow! The gate was still open and the asphalt road was completed bare of any snow. I believe the gate gets locked around December 15th.

We are starting to get some snow up top with the recent storms, but it is all melted down below and we wont be able to access it until we get a few more larger storms and colder temperatures.

We will keep you updated on the grooming. Weather and snowfall will determine when we start. Once we start grooming, we will plan on doing it once a week on Thursdays.

Now is a good time to make sure your sleds are registered, and your safety gear is in tip top shape. See you out there soon!
